Whether you have never picked up a camera before or you’ve dabbled here and there, this course is for you!
Learning to master YOUR camera, understanding the way it works and leaving with the ability to go out and take the photos you want.
You know when you see something and you think, wow that needs to be captured yet when you take the photo, it doesn’t look how you see it in your mind?
This is the place to start to melt your mind and your camera in to one and turn the scenes in your head in to beautiful masterpieces.

What You’ll Learn -
Taking an IN-Depth look at the exposure triangle and completely breaking down how to shoot in MANUAL mode.
Covering Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, White Balance and so much more.
Don’t worry if those words are jargon to you right now, they will all make sense by the end of the day.
After a seriously DELICIOUS lunch we will head out with our cameras and put our theory in to practice. With plenty of time for open dialogue and Q&A.
100% Recommend this class if, like me, you have been using really flash cameras on 'Auto' mode for over a decade.
Kim made everything super clear and understandable but is also just honest and approachable so I didn't feel stupid or out of my depth. (still a bit dumb for waiting so long to do this) I feel so in control of my camera and getting the images I want now.

Kim did so well at teaching the camera basics. Everyone came with a different camera and skill level. Despite this she was still able to help us all navigate what each setting meant and put it into practice. Me and my whānau would love to do some travelling in the future and unfortunately we can’t take Kim everywhere with us… but now I can take my camera and newfound skill set.

Thank you for such an awesome basic skills workshop. Apart from it being a comfortable and inviting space with a group of amazing people. The whole programme made everything easy to understand and process , Whether you had some former knowledge or complete beginner. It also helped me get a better understanding of my camera making it easier to access its tools / use in different settings and knowing how these will effect the end photos. It was great that each person had your support and guidance through every step including the practical with plenty of opportunity for questions and suggestions . It was inspiring !!! Along with an incredible lunch, ( still thinking about it) resources and continued support.i can say it was definitely a worthwhile and enjoyable course .

Thank you so much for such an epic class!! My feedback is that it was just amazing. You really helped to teach the necessary basics and understand the photography lingo so that moving forward learning things I'll actually understand the information I'm learning about. I have a whole new understanding of my camera and I feel like it was just a really simple class to follow and understand for a beginner. Loved it!! I just wanted to say too I thought you were super fun and really motivating haha which was just so nice because it's so amazing to learn from somebody who is sooo passionate about photography, a few of your pep talks had me thinking about my life and creativity and how I shouldn't limit myself or give up on things when it starts to get hard just push through and persevere. Also there was a little spiel you gave I think last week about how passionate you are about what you do and how you are sad for people that don't have that. It seriously sparked something in me where I was like ???? I can do something I love everyday like her too!!

Picked up a camera 7 years ago for the first time and fell in love with the whole process start to finish. Made a million mistakes, failed a thousand times and picked myself back up and gained every ounce of knowledge I could to ensure I didn’t repeat those errors.
Fully self taught and very connected with my creative self, have done hundreds of different photo shoots, from families to corporate to pets! Worked with many different people from all walks. Incredibly passionate about people learning a new skill, having completed my first two successful camera basics classes I realised I thoroughly enjoy the process of teaching and witnessing growth.
